City Attorney Wes Duncan Announces Domestic Battery Conviction
Sparks City Attorney's Office announces that its prosecutors convicted Jordan Ellingson of Domestic Battery, first offense, stemming from an incident that occurred on April 27, 2024.
On May 20, 2024, the victim disclosed to law enforcement in Elko of a prior domestic battery committed by Ellingson that occurred on April 27, 2024, at the Nugget Casino in Sparks. During the early morning, the victim woke up and found Ellingson going through her phone and screaming at her. The victim told Ellingson to stop because their minor child was sleeping in the room. The victim attempted to leave the room when Ellingson grabbed her and yanked her back into the room. Ellingson became angry when the victim refused to acknowledge him and strangled the victim. The victim tried to escape several times, but Ellingson would continuously yank her back into the room.
During their investigation, Sparks Police Department confirmed with the Nugget that Ellingson had a hotel reservation for April 2024, and received photos from the victim depicting injuries consistent with how and when she described the battery occurred. Sparks Police Department submitted for a warrant, which was granted by the Sparks Municipal Court.

On December 18, 2025, the Sparks City Attorney's Office secured a conviction for Domestic Battery, first offense, against Ellingson. As a result of the conviction, Ellingson was sentenced to 180 days Washoe County Jail suspended for 2 years on the condition Ellingson: serve 2 days of house arrest, complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $200 fine and a $35 domestic violence fee, complete 26 weeks of domestic violence counseling, complete an effects of violence in the home course, obey all laws, abstain from the use of controlled substances and/or alcohol, and have no contact with the victim.
City Attorney Wes Duncan Announces Stalking Conviction
The Sparks City Attorney's Office announced that its prosecutor secured a conviction for Danny Robello of Stalking Constituting Domestic Violence, first offense.
On December 4, 2025, the victim called 911 and reported her ex-boyfriend, Robello, was outside her apartment. When Sparks Police Department arrived, Robello was not on scene. The victim disclosed to law enforcement that she and Robello had been dating for approximately 2 years and separated in November 2025. Over the last few days, the victim told law enforcement Robello contacted her over various social media applications and showed up to the victim's apartment several times.
Law enforcement reviewed Robello's messages from that timeframe to the victim, which included over 500 messages on Snapchat and approximately 150 messages on Facebook. Robello's messages included threats that he would show up at the victim's residence, and threats of vandalism. The victim would only respond to voice her desire to no longer have contact with Robello.
Thereafter, Robello was arrested on the charge of Stalking Constituting Domestic Violence and additional criminal charges out of Sparks Justice Court and convicted after prosecution by the Sparks City Attorney's Office.
Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan stated, "Our Office will continue to stand up for victims of threats and abusive behavior."
Robello was sentenced to 180 days Washoe County Jail, suspended for 2 years on the condition he: obey all laws, have no contact with the victim, and comply with Sparks Municipal Court's compliance program.
