Lane & Ramp Closures on State Routes 59, 99, 140, 152 & 165

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 59, (SR-59), SR-99, SR-140, SR-152 and SR-165 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 59

  • One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 at Turlock Rd for Tree Work on Monday, August 10 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
  • One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 at Montgomery St for Tree Work on Tuesday, August 11 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

State Route 99

  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Mission Ave over-crossing for paving operation on Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 and SR-59/MLK Jr Way for paving operation on Wednesday, August 12 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on and off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at 16th St under-crossing for paving operations on Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure for southbound and northbound on and off ramps for SR-99 at Winton Parkway over-crossing for paving operation on Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at the Collier Road Under-Crossing for paving operation beginning on Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • One lane closure southbound SR-99 at Mariposa Way for tree work on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
  • One lane closure northbound SR-99 at Mariposa Way for tree work on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at the Shanks Road Over-Crossing for paving operation beginning Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at the Shanks Road Over-Crossing for paving operation beginning Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full off and on-ramp closure on northbound and southbound SR-99 at Bradbury Rd over-crossing for paving operation beginning Sunday, August 9 through Friday August 14, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.

State Route 140

  • One way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-140 from Franklin Rd to Rina Ave for tree work on Wednesday August 12, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
  • Overnight one lane closure on eastbound and westbound SR-140 from Parson Ave to Anderegg Ave for utility work from Wednesday August 12 to Friday August 14, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.

State Route 152

  • One lane closure on eastbound SR-152 for paving from Passing Lane Westbound to San Luis Dam Service Rd from Monday August 10 to Tuesday August 11, 2026 from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm.
  • Two lanes closure on westbound SR-152 for paving from San Luis Dam Service Rd to Upper Cotton Wood Rd from Wednesday August 12 to Friday August 14, 2026 from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm.

State Route 165

  • Overnight one-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-165 at Geer Ave for traffic signal work beginning Tuesday, August 11 through Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight one-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-165 at Geer Ave for striping operation from Thursday, August 13 to Friday, August 14, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight one-way traffic control on SR-165 at Crane Ave for utility work beginning Sunday, August 9 through Friday, August 14, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
