FoodDrinkEurope Announces Second Series of Food for Thought

Food for Thought, the branded content series produced for FoodDrinkEurope by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, is returning for a second series.

In 2024, FoodDrinkEurope launched Food for Thought, a collection of diverse, human-centric stories filmed across 11 countries, sharing the stories of innovators creating more resilient and sustainable food and drink systems. The series premiered at FoodDrinkEurope's Ideas Fest to an audience of 100+ industry thought leaders, before going on to reach global audiences on BBC.com: earning 194,000 page views, 179,000 unique page views, 16 million social media impressions, and almost two million engagements across social.

Since then, the conversation has shifted. Food is at a global inflection point. Global events are testing the delicate balance between affordability, sustainability and nutrition, forcing choices for industry and consumers alike. At the same time, accelerating innovation is creating improved options and new opportunities.

The second series of Food for Thought will place consumers at the centre of the story, exploring how an industry at the forefront of innovation can support people to maintain habits and traditions, create new ones and enable healthier lives on a thriving planet.

Organisations are now invited to submit stories for the second series of Food for Thought, detailing how they are contributing to a food and drink system that works for people and planet. Beyond promises and pledges, this series is interested in innovation in action, and is seeking real-world case studies across four key themes:

The deadline for submissions is 16th June. To submit your story for consideration, please fill out this short form. For further information, please contact Benjamin Woodroof, Series Developer at BBC StoryWorks, [email protected]

Following review, selected organisations will be invited to discuss engaging BBC StoryWorks' creative teams to produce a branded piece for the series. A dedicated production team will work closely with selected organisations to develop compelling content; organisations will also be able to distribute the content across their own channels with the support of FoodDrinkEurope.

Spots are limited. Submit your story today.
