Vietnam Airlines ranks among Vietnam's Top 50 largest budget contributors for the second consecutive year (11/09/2026)

The ranking is based on the actual amount paid during the 2025 fiscal year. Vietnam Airlines contributed VND 3,291 billion to the state budget. Over the past 30 years, the airline's total contributions have exceeded VND 71 trillion.

Alongside its budget contributions, 2025 saw a recovery in Vietnam Airlines' business performance and operating scale. Consolidated revenue reached over VND 121 trillion, with after-tax profit of VND 7,607 billion. The airline operated more than 156,000 flights, carrying over 25.6 million passengers and more than 340,000 tons of cargo.

This growth momentum has continued into 2026. Vietnam Airlines is targeting service for more than 27.7 million passengers, transport of over 361,000 tons of cargo, and revenue of nearly VND 139 trillion. According to its mid-year consolidated financial report, in the first six months of the year the airline paid more than VND 2,100 billion in taxes and other payments to the state.

Mr. Le Duc Canh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said: "Being in the Top 50 largest budget-contributing enterprises in Vietnam for two consecutive years reflects the results of Vietnam Airlines' recovery and improved operational efficiency. As the national flag carrier, we are committed to ensuring that growth goes hand in hand with efficiency and responsibility to the economy. Resources generated from business operations will continue to be devoted to investment, expanding our flight network, and strengthening the airline's competitiveness."

Aviation is an important part of strategic infrastructure, helping to connect economic regions and domestic tourist destinations with international markets. In that role, Vietnam Airlines is one of the leading forces in Vietnam's aviation transport sector. Over more than 30 years, the airline has gradually developed its fleet, expanded its domestic and international flight network, and increased operating capacity in line with market demand. Its network now connects Vietnam's major economic and tourism centers with numerous international markets, serving travel, cargo transport and trade needs.

Vietnam Airlines is currently implementing a plan to invest in 50 narrow-body aircraft during 2026-2032, with total investment of more than VND 92,000 billion. Alongside fleet and network development, the airline is accelerating digital transformation in operations, services and governance to improve resource efficiency and service quality.

Sustainable development is a long-term direction in Vietnam Airlines' operations. The airline has operated flights using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), applied fuel-saving and emission-reduction solutions, and is working toward the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
