ATLANTA - Oct. 14, 2025 - Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP represented the Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority (the Authority) as special counsel in the issuance of approximately $400 million in revenue bonds to finance the development and operation of the new Signia by Hilton Savannah. The hotel will serve as the headquarters hotel for the Savannah Convention Center, supporting the center's expanding footprint along Savannah's riverfront.
In addition to the bond issuance, Greenberg Traurig advised the Authority on the negotiation and execution of a long-term Qualified Hotel Management Agreement and other hotel agreements with Hilton, as well as development agreements.
The multidisciplinary Greenberg Traurig team was led by Public Finance & Infrastructure Co-Chair Franklin D.R. Jones Jr., and included Real Estate and Hospitality Shareholder Nicholas N. Palmer, and Construction Shareholder David C. Jensen.
The Signia by Hilton Savannah broke ground Oct. 8 and is expected to open in mid-2028. The 444-room hotel follows the 2024 opening of Signia by Hilton Atlanta, on which Greenberg Traurig advised the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Jones led the team that advised on the financing and development of the 975-room Atlanta property, located adjacent to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Georgia World Congress Center.
The Authority is a public body corporate and politic and an instrumentality of the State of Georgia.
