The Baldwin County Commission has approved the donation of approximately 4.5 acres of county-owned property in North Baldwin County to Prodisee Pantry, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving families facing food insecurity. The property, located near the intersection of Highway 225 and Lakeview Road, will be used for the construction of a new food distribution facility in Stockton.
Prodisee Pantry currently serves a significant number of families in North Baldwin County and has provided food distributions in the Stockton community for more than a decade. In 2025 alone, nearly 1,500 families attended distribution events in the area, highlighting the growing need for consistent, accessible services.
The new facility will establish a permanent presence in North Baldwin County, allowing Prodisee Pantry to expand its reach and provide additional resources for residents in need. As part of the agreement, the property will be used specifically for a food bank serving the public, and construction of the facility must be completed within three years.
This project represents a meaningful investment in the well-being of our residents. We are proud to support partners like Prodisee Pantry who are making a direct impact in our communities. Prodisee Pantry has indicated it will fund construction and ongoing operations through private donations, grants, and community support, and will work closely with county staff throughout the development process. This initiative reflects Baldwin County's continued commitment to supporting community partnerships that address critical needs and improve quality of life for residents.
