Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and GEK TERNA S.A. announce a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing Greece's defence capabilities and reinforcing the country's sovereign industrial base in the defence sector.

Following the Memorandum of Understanding signed in the fourth quarter of 2025, Rheinmetall Landsysteme and GEK TERNA have now executed a long-term binding Strategic Framework Agreement that combines GEK TERNA's leading position in critical infrastructure, energy and industrial investments across South-Eastern Europe with Rheinmetall's world-class portfolio of land systems and defence technologies.

The partnership creates the foundation for substantial industrial cooperation in Greece, with significant local added value, sustainable capability development and long-term technological advancement. Through this agreement, the two companies will combine their complementary expertise to meet evolving operational requirements and deliver reliable, high-quality integrated defence solutions while supporting the long-term development of Greece's defence industrial ecosystem.

The partnership is intended to provide the Hellenic Armed Forces with state-of-the-art capabilities based, inter alia, on new tactical land systems as well as lifecycle maintenance and upgrade of existing assets. A central objective of the cooperation is the systematic development of enduring industrial capabilities within the Hellenic Army's own industrial facilities, complemented by the active participation of Greek small and medium-sized enterprises. By progressively establishing domestic production, integration, maintenance and support capacities, the partnership seeks to strengthen Greece's long-term operational self-reliance, institutional expertise and sovereign ability to sustain critical defence capabilities throughout their entire lifecycle.
