Texan Baseball takes on Texas State in San Marcos on Wednesday evening

SAN MARCOS - Tarleton State Baseball (17-24) will face off against the Texas State Bobcats (19-20) for a midweek matchup on Wednesday evening.

The Texans will look to keep their win streak going after beating Utah Valley during the final two games of last week's series.

SERIES HISTORY:

  • This will be the second all-time matchup between the Texans and the Bobcats.
  • Texas State took the first game 2-1 in Stephenville, Texas.
  • The last time these two squads faced off, had a team-high two hits.

  • Shirey has 46 hits on the year and ranks third among the team with a .317 batting average.
  • He leads the team in assists (112) and double plays (22).
  • Shirey ranks second on the team in steals, going 12-13 on steal attempts this season.
MCCLOUD TALLIES THREE MULTI-HIT PERFORMANCES:
  • Tarleton State senior had three multi-hit performances through four games last week.
  • This included a two-hit performance against former No. 1 ranked Texas A&M where McCloud went 2-4 with an RBI and a double.
  • He also posted a team-high three hits during last Saturday's victory against the Wolverines, including a home run.
  • McCloud leads the team with a .346 batting average and also has a team-high 56 hits.
  • McCloud is the only Texan to record 50 or more hits this season.
