On November 26th, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan attended Annual Dinner held by Ireland China Business Association (ICBA) and delivered a speech. Nearly 200 people from ICBA , IDA, EI, Dublin Chamber, Cork Chamber and UCD participated the event. Dr. Nicholas O'Brien, Ambassador of Ireland to China delivered a video address.
In his speech, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan stated that China-Ireland relations have developed well in recent years with fruitful cooperation across various fields. The fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee deliberated over and adopted the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development, providing top-level design and strategic blueprint for development over the next five years. China will steadily expand institutional opening-up, uphold the multilateral trading system, expand international circulation, broaden the scope of two-way investment cooperation, and jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality. The 15th Five-Year Plan brings more development opportunities to countries around the world, including Ireland. China is willing to deepen cooperation with Ireland in areas such as the digital economy, green energy, biomedicine, technological innovation, and financial services, creating new growth for economic and trade cooperation.
