ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) announced that Providence Chief Mission Experience Officer, Orest Holubec, will serve as chairperson of CHA's Board of Trustees for 2025-26.

Mr. Holubec's installation ceremony as chairperson took place today at CHA's membership assembly meeting. His term begins July 1, and he will serve until June 30, 2026.

CHA, founded in 1915, advances the Catholic health ministry of the United States in caring for people and communities. Comprised of more than 650 hospitals and 1,600 long-term care and other health facilities in all 50 states, the Catholic health ministry is the largest group of nonprofit health care providers in the nation. Every day, more than one in seven patients in the U.S. is cared for in a Catholic hospital.

"Orest brings a deep reverence for our Catholic identity and a clear commitment to advancing the healing mission of the Church. CHA and our members look forward to working with Orest as we advance our vision to empower bold change to elevate human flourishing," said Sr. Mary Haddad, CHA President and CEO.

A seasoned executive in Catholic health care, Holubec has consistently championed the mission and values that guide faith-based health systems. In his current role, he helps ensure Providence's mission, values, Catholic identity, and charisms of the founding congregations are tangibly understood and deeply felt by caregivers and integrated into culture, strategy, and operations across the health system's shared services.

"I'm humbled and honored to serve as chair of CHA. As the people of Catholic health care, we are called to put into practice this recognition of everyone's inherent dignity, and I am committed to doing my best to shepherd our collective calling in these turbulent times. May we continue to seek out those in the margins who need us most as we extend God's healing love to all, so that everyone can reach their full human potential and get on with the work of making the world a better place," said Holubec.

In addition to Holubec's appointment, Joe Gage, JD, Chief Administrative Officer, Bon Secours Mercy Health, has been elected as the FY2026 Vice Chairperson/Chairperson-Elect, along with the following board member appointments: Rob Casalou, President and Chief Executive Officer, Trinity Health Michigan and Southeast Regions, Sally Deitch, Executive Vice President, Nursing and Operations Infrastructure, Ascension, Wright Lassiter III, Chief Executive Officer, CommonSpirit Health.
