This week, seven groups of participants from the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council's (USGBC's) flagship buyers and sellers conference, Export Exchange, traveled across the U.S. to visit key feed grain production and logistics sites. Below are snapshots from five of the teams, and read on for full coverage of a Philippines-based team's journey to Indiana later in this issue!
A delegation of Chinese and Mongolian distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS) end-users visited farms and storage facilities in Kansas to learn about corn production and handling on its way to customers worldwide.
A team of South Korean DDGS importers keenly inspected product made at Heartland Corn Products in Winthrop, Minn.
A Southeast Asia multinational team comprised of some of the largest traders and end users from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam gathered in Nebraska to witness this year's corn harvest in full swing, including USGBC grower leader farms and member ethanol plants.
The group also witnessed how effective DDGS are in cattle raising, a growing protein segment in the region. The group also met with Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Joe Kelly to discuss ways to increase bilateral trade between Nebraska and Southeast Asia.
