NEW YORK (September 21, 2026) - Jessica Peppel-Schulz, chief executive officer of Tamedia in Zürich, Switzerland, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the International News Media Association (INMA).
Peppel-Schulz leads the publisher of Tages-Anzeiger, SonntagsZeitung, Berner Zeitung, Basler Zeitung, 24 heures, Tribune de Genève, and other brands - a company whose roots reach back to the founding of Tages-Anzeiger in 1893 and which is part of TX Group, Switzerland's largest media group.
She was elected by unanimous vote of the INMA Board at its monthly virtual meeting on Thursday, September 17.
Peppel-Schulz came to Tamedia after two decades in digital marketing and media, including five years as CEO of the agency group UDG United Digital Group and two years as managing director of Condé Nast Germany. She holds an economics degree from the University of Hamburg.
Since becoming CEO in 2023, she has led a sweeping transformation of Tamedia - concentrating digital growth on four core brands, creating an AI unit reporting directly to the CEO, and separating print and digital operations. She calls employee satisfaction her hardest KPI, telling delegates at the 2025 INMA World Congress of News Media in New York: "Nothing will ever work if we don't have the effort of the people to make it happen."
