OCHM Items on Display at National Museum

We are proud to share that items from the Old Colony History Museum (OCHM) are on view at the National Museum of the United States Army in their newly opened exhibit, "Call To Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War."

The exhibit features the sights and sounds of the American Revolution through the personal stories of the men and women who fought to win our nation's independence. The exhibit includes an unprecedented display of rare Revolutionary War artifacts from the original colonies, England, France, and Canada.

The Old Colony History Museum loaned artifacts to help tell that story, including the remarkable life of Toby Gilmore, a formerly enslaved man from the Old Colony who fought for American independence.

With the original items on view in this national exhibit, the OCHM has reproductions on display in Taunton so that visitors can still experience Toby's story locally.

Thank you to OCHM member and history buff, Jason Roomes, for representing Taunton at the opening of the exhibit.
