Mayor's Message - May 2025

Dear Residents,

Summer is just around the corner, and I'm looking forward creating memories with family and friends out in the sunshine! Whether you're looking ahead to summer fun or savoring spring's final stretch, there's so much to enjoy right here in the city.

One of the best ways to welcome in the season is at our Summer Camp! If you haven't registered yet, don't worry; there's still time to secure your spot. Our ever-popular Camp AV offers fun-filled days for kids of all ages, packed with games, crafts, outdoor play, and themed activities designed to spark creativity and connection. Visit CampAV.org to learn more and reserve your child's spot before camp fills up!

While the kids are getting ready for their summer adventures, adults have something to look forward to as well. Our local business community continues to grow with exciting new additions. We're thrilled to welcome Nasung Donkasu to Aliso Viejo Town Center. This exciting new restaurant specializes in Korean cutlets and comforting flavors perfect for a casual night out. Additionally, 99 Ranch Market has officially opened its doors at The Commons. This beloved supermarket brings a wide array of fresh produce, specialty items, and international goods to our growing retail destination.

As we inch closer to June, mark your calendars for our family favorite Movie Night at Aliso Viejo Ranch on Sunday, June 1! We'll be showing The Emperor's New Groove, a hilarious and heartwarming classic that's fun for all ages. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. with on-theme activities, and the movie will begin at sunset. Bring your blankets, pillows, or low lawn chairs, and arrive early to grab a bite to eat from on-site food vendors. It's the perfect way to kick off a summer evening under the stars.

One of my favorite seasonal signals is Memorial Day Weekend, which is quickly approaching! Many of us will be lighting up the grill and enjoying backyard BBQs, so before you fire things up, take a moment to review important barbecue safety tips from the Orange County Fire Authorityby clicking here.A few simple precautions can make all the difference in keeping your gatherings fun, safe, and fire-free.

Here's to sunshine-filled days, community connection, and a summer season that starts with something special for everyone. See you around the City!
