Georgia College & State University is proud to join colleges and universities across the country in recognizing National Hazing Prevention Week, an opportunity to raise awareness, educate our campus community and reaffirm our commitment to student safety.
Did you know that hazing is against the law in Georgia?
According to O.C.G.A. 16-5-61, hazing is defined as:
Under Georgia law, hazing is classified as a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature.
At Georgia College, we are committed to fostering a culture where students thrive through trust, respect and inclusion - not intimidation or coercion. Hazing has no place in our Bobcat Nation.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to speak out against hazing and support a safe, positive campus environment. If you or someone you know experiences or witnesses hazing, please report it immediately through the university's hazing prevention and student safety resources.
Together, we can ensure that all Bobcats build lasting connections based on respect and integrity.
