City of Southfield Offices and Library Closed October 12 in Observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day
City of Southfield offices and the Southfield Public Library will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13.
The City of Southfield honors Indigenous American peoples and recognizes their rich histories, cultures and contributions. Observed annually on the second Monday in October, Indigenous Peoples' Day is recognized by communities across the United States, including Southfield.
Please Note: Garbage and recycling collection will remain on schedule with no delays due to the holiday.
Emergency services will remain available throughout the closure. For emergencies, call 911.
