Seasoned healthcare finance executive joins PeaceHealth Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, Wash. - PeaceHealth has named Richard "Ric" Magnuson to its system board of directors.
Magnuson served as interim executive vice president and chief financial officer for PeaceHealth from June 2025 to September 2026, ensuring steady leadership and a smooth transition to the current CFO, Matt Swafford.
"We are deeply grateful that Ric will continue serving PeaceHealth in this important capacity," said PeaceHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Sarah Ness. "He guided many of the financial stewardship initiatives that are strengthening our organization and will be an excellent addition to PeaceHealth's System Board. His financial expertise and proven commitment to our Values will help continue advancing our Mission in service to our patients, caregivers and communities."
Magnuson has more than 40 years of healthcare finance experience, having started his career as a bedside nursing assistant before pivoting to finance. Prior to joining PeaceHealth, he served as the CFO for Allina Health in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota where he had 25 cumulative years of service. Magnuson was named Notable Chief Financial Officer in 2022 by Twin Cities Business Magazine and CFO of the Year in 2019 by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal. He earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
