Visitors to Guernsey spent almost £150 million between April 2025 and March 2026

Visitor expenditure in Guernsey was estimated to total £149 million, equating to an average spend of £530 per visitor, over the year between April 2025 and March 2026 according to the latest Guernsey Visitor Expenditure Survey Report, which was published today.

The Report provides information on expenditure by visitors travelling to the island by aeroplane, ferry, cruise ship, and (for the first time) also private yacht.

Expenditure includes package trips, travel to and from Guernsey, accommodation while on island, items purchased whilst in Guernsey, spend on eating and drinking out, entertainment and other activities, tours, transport and any planned additional expenditure before departure.

Of these, visitor expenditure was highest for accommodation whilst on island at £39 million. The second highest expenditure was for travel to and from Guernsey at £35 million, followed by eating and drinking out whilst on island at £27 million.

Visitors from the UK contributed 72% of total expenditure at £106 million, while visitors from Jersey and France contributed 4% and 5% of the total respectively. Visitors from elsewhere contributed 16% to overall visitor expenditure at £24 million, with highest spend in this category from visitors from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the USA and Canada.

The average spend per visitor was highest for those arriving via aeroplane, with an average spend per visitor of £693. Those arriving via ferry had the second highest average spend at £487 per visitor, while the lowest average spend per visitor was for those arriving via cruise ship, at £46 per visitor.
