Georgia DOT Opens New Ramp from Wesley Chapel Road to I-20 Westbound

DECATUR, GA- The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) opened the new Wesley Chapel Road on-ramp to I-20 westbound (WB) early on October 14, 2025. This on-ramp carries traffic from Wesley Chapel Road to I-20 WB and I-285. Motorists should expect a slight shift from the current traffic pattern.

Ongoing construction in the area includes the new westbound connecting, or collector-distributor lanes. The eventual traffic pattern for the Wesley Chapel on-ramp to I-20 WB will eliminate the current merger conflict between traffic entering I-20 and motorists exiting the interstate for I-285. The new on-ramp and connecting lanes will intertwine to allow motorists to either exit to I-285 using the westbound connecting lanes or to I-20 westbound.

As crews continue work in the area, remember to drive alert and watch out for workers.
