The Vista City Council wants to hear from you.
At its January 13, 2026 meeting, the City Council directed staff to gather community input as part of its consideration of a potential City logo redesign. The City's current logo was last updated in 2004 and has represented Vista for more than two decades. As Vista has grown and evolved, the City is exploring whether a refreshed visual identity is needed-one that better reflects our modern character, values, and aspirations.
Three proposed logo options are pictured above. Vista residents are invited to:
Review each design
Cast an advisory vote for their preferred option
Share written comments and feedback
Please note: colors shown are subject to change and may not reflect final color selections.
Your input matters. Survey results and comments will be presented to the City Council and will help inform its final decision.

The survey closes March 15, 2026.
In 2024, the City issued a Request for Proposals for logo and brand mark design services. Three proposals were received and reviewed by a committee of City staff representing multiple departments. Based on experience, qualifications, and proposal details, the committee selected , a Vista-based designer whose work includes projects for national brands such as Tony Hawk, Vans, ESPN, and Surfer Magazine.
On October 14, 2025, staff presented the City Council with background on why a logo update is being considered, including:
Reflecting Vista's evolving identity and values
Improving usability across digital and print platforms
Strengthening civic pride and public engagement
Demonstrating innovation and relevance
Following that discussion, Councilmembers requested additional design alternatives. Staff and Mr. Muehlhausen continued refining the concepts, and individual meetings with each Councilmember took place in November and December 2025 to review multiple logo options and a broader branding package for City use.
The logo survey closes March 16, 2026. The results of the survey will be presented to the City Council on April 14, 2026 as part of their discussion of the proposed logo redesign and branding package.
