Construction Will Impact South Stevens Street

Crews will begin work on southbound Stevens Street between 3rd and 9th Avenues beginning Monday, July 6. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow for extra time, and be alert for frequent traffic changes. Please slow down for everyone's safety and make extra effort to support businesses impacted by the necessary projects. Stevens Street between 3rd and 9th Avenues

Beginning Monday, July 6, lane reductions will be in place on southbound Stevens Street between 3rd and the 9th Avenue Bridge. This grind and overlay project includes sewer and stormwater pipe replacement, ADA ramp improvements, and joint seal repair work on the bridge. Work on Stevens Street and the 9th Avenue Bridge is expected to be completed by late August.

What to expect:

  • Southbound traffic on Stevens Street will be reduced to one lane between 3rd Avenue and the 9th Avenue Bridge. Expect significant slowdowns starting at Sprague Avenue for southbound Stevens Street.
  • Consider an alternative route for southbound travel
  • Access to businesses will be maintained and the public is reminded to make the extra effort to support them.
