ORIGINAL RELEASE (August 29) | The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
On Friday August 28, at 9:52 p.m., LPD and emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Homestead Expressway, just north of Rosa Parks Way on the report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan.
The preliminary investigation has shown that a northbound motorcycle crossed the median into southbound lanes on Homestead Expressway, where it was involved in a head-on collision with a southbound sedan. The motorcycle driver, a 49-year-old Lincoln resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and three occupants of the sedan were treated at a local hospital but did not suffer any severe injuries.
