Speakers of National Assemblies of Republic of Serbia and Republic of Srpska Meet

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, met today with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Nenad Stevandic.

They discussed the preparations for the 4th Republic of Serbia - Republic of Srpska Parliamentary Forum, which will be held on 26 March in Belgrade, as an important opportunity to strengthen institutional cooperation and regular dialogue between our parliaments.

They agreed that ministers of culture, as well as representatives of other relevant institutions, such as the Museum of Genocide Victims, would be invited to the Parliamentary Forum to continue coordination and agree on further steps regarding the construction of the Memorial Centre for Genocide Victims in Donja Gradina and Belgrade.

In the course of the meeting, they expressed great concern about the frequent undisguised Ustasha-Nazi ideology in the region. They agreed to jointly inform all relevant international actors about this, in order to work together to preserve the truth and memory of the victims, and prevent the spread of hatred.

Speakers Brnabic and Stevandic emphasised the importance of the Parliamentary Forum as a platform for developing stable and constructive cooperation, aimed at strengthening political dialogue and preserving peace in the region.
