WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today,U.S.Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) celebrated the Department of Interior's announcement of an $889 million investment to repair critical water infrastructure projects. The funding includes $100 million to repair the Gering-Fort Laramie Canal, which is critical for farms and ranches in Western Nebraska.
"The Working Families Tax Cut is providing a major investment in Nebraska ag infrastructure. This is a historic investment for Nebraska producers," said Ricketts. "When the Gering-Fort Laramie Canal collapsed in 2019 when I was governor, I helped deliver on these emergency funds. This news is a big next step. I'm looking forward to working with the Trump administration to make sure these funds guarantee infrastructure improvements for our farmers and ranchers."
