On Veterans Day, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) announced Rod Fikel from Coldwater as the Veteran of the Month for November. The Congressman's office presented Rod with the Congressional Record containing Congressman Walberg's remarks honoring Rod's service and dedication to our community.
Rod Fikel served as an MOS 25V Combat Documentation Specialist in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1996 and was deployed to both Kuwait and Iraq. Since returning him, Rod has been a dedicated member of the American Legion and an active participant in the Branch County Department of Veterans Affairs' community committee.
"On this Veterans Day, it is my privilege to recognize Rod Fikel from Coldwater for his service and significant contributions to our great nation," said Rep. Walberg. "Rod is truly an inspiration to many and has shown remarkable perseverance in the face of adversity. He is described by many as a cornerstone of the veteran community, offering support and advice to his peers. Thank you, Rod, for your courageous service and unwavering commitment to our community."
