Congressman Shri Thanedar Secures over $45,000,000 of Federal Funding to the District

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) has secured over $45 million in Community Project Funding (CPF) to ALL municipalities in the 13th District for the first time in over 50 years. Congressman Thanedar has made it his priority to ensure his district is represented in Congress and is committed to working with local and state leaders to address Michigan issues in the halls of Congress.

"Since day one, bringing federal funding home has always been my top priority," said Rep. Thanedar. "I'm proud to help address the everyday needs of my constituents. Funding these projects will improve quality of life for people across every community in our district."

Some of the projects that received funding include:

1. $959,752 to the City of Dearborn Heights, which would fund a complete cleanout of Ecorse Creek, an important stormwater outlet that drains stormwater for roughly one-third of Dearborn Heights.

2. $2,250,000 to the City of Detroit, Basement Mold Remediation Program, which would clean up and remediate mold-infested homes in Detroit, prioritizing ZIP codes with the highest convergence of poverty, health disparities (specifically asthma), and water-in-basement claims.

3. $772,700 to the City of Taylor, Next-Generation 911 Emergency Communications Upgrades, which would modernize emergency communications and dispatch operations through an upgrade to a Next Generation 911 (NG911) dispatch and emergency communications system.
