Gilbert, Ariz. - NBA star Jalen Williams is scoring big, not just in the Finals but in his hometown too!
The Town of Gilbert joined Perry High School to cheer on their former basketball star and current Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star guard, Jalen Williams.
On June 5, just as Williams suits up for Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals, the Gilbert Streets team, in collaboration with Perry High School and Chandler Unified School District, paid a special tribute to the NBA star by temporarily renaming Perry Puma Drive to "Jalen Williams Way."
During his time as a Puma, Williams helped the team reach the state semifinals and earned All-Conference honors. His professional career has been just as impressive, this season he was named to the All-NBA Third Team and the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
The Williams dynasty extends beyond Jalen. His younger brother Cody Williams, also a Perry High alum, was drafted by the Utah Jazz in 2024. Together, they are carrying their family legacy to new heights in the NBA.
