I-8 Connectors to Southbound I-5 closed July 7

SAN DIEGO - Caltrans will close the westbound and eastbound Interstate 8 (I-8) connectors to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5), starting Tuesday, July 7, 11:15 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for drainage work.

Motorists traveling westbound on I-8 may connect to northbound I-5, exit at Sea World Drive, and then turn left to the I-5 southbound on-ramp.

Eastbound I-8 motorists may continue and exit at Taylor Street/Hotel Circle, turn left, cross the Presidio Park overcrossing to reach the westbound I-8 on-ramp from Taylor Street/Hotel Circle, then merge onto westbound I-8. Westbound I-8 motorists can connect to northbound I-5 by exiting at Sea World Drive and turning left onto the southbound I-5 on-ramp.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
