Look out for the new release! This is the first volume of "Corsaires du ciel", set just a few months before a battle that would leave its mark on the French Army.

This brand-new comic published by Éditions Paquet looks very promising, combining many of the ingredients of such a work on aviation: high-flying aerial scenes, of course, but also heroism, tension, rivalry…

The plot takes place in the autumn of 1953, during the so-called Indochina War, in North Tonkin - the northern part of present-day Vietnam. At the time, French troops were battling with the men of a certain Ho Chi Minh. The infantry were supplied by pilots such as those of the French naval air force's 11th embarked fighter squadron. Among the pilots in question, rivalry seems to be exacerbated between Lieutenant Reginussen and Captain De Millec, whose shared past certainly has a bearing on their tense relations… All this at a time when a crucial battle is looming in this part of the world: that of Diên Biên Phu.

Scripted by Rudolph de Patureaux, historian and former officer in the French Navy, this new comic book explores a little-known part of the French Army's history, namely its air involvement in Indochina. Add to this Olivier Dauger's talent as a draughtsman, particularly for the battle scenes in the sky, and you've got two reasons to go for this first volume, which will be eagerly awaited by others.
