City of Atlanta and Park Pride Launch Love Your Park 2026, Aiming to Engage 1,000 Volunteers Citywide

ATLANTA-The City of Atlanta Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR), in partnership with Park Pride, announced the launch of Love Your Park 2026-a month-long citywide volunteer initiative taking place throughout February. Now in its third year, Love Your Park continues to grow as a signature community-driven effort to care for and invest in Atlanta's parks.

Throughout the month, Love Your Park will engage hundreds of residents-working toward a goal of 1,000 volunteers-in parks across all City Council districts. Volunteers may participate as individuals or as part of organized groups-including families, youth groups, schools and corporate or community teams. Low-cost, high-impact projects examples include litter cleanups, creating mulching and weeding garden beds, invasive plant removal, habitat restoration and general park beautification.

"Love Your Park is about more than improving our green spaces it's about building a culture of volunteering across the City of Atlanta," said Justin Cutler, Commissioner of the Department of Parks & Recreation. "As Mayor Dickens often reminds us, Atlanta is a group project. This initiative brings residents, partners and the City together to show what is possible when we all play a role in caring for the places that serve our communities."

Projects are hosted by park conservancies, Friends of the Park groups, nonprofit partners and community organizations, all of which are aimed to provide Atlantans with meaningful opportunities to give back while strengthening neighborhood connections and long-term park stewardship.

"Love is in the air all month long, especially in our parks and green spaces. Atlanta's parks thrive when people feel connected to them, and Love Your Park is a great opportunity to come together with your neighbors to help our parks shine-all while having fun," said Michael Halicki, President & CEO of Park Pride, a city-wide parks nonprofit. "By working together, our impact can be felt year-round."

Volunteer opportunities and project details are now available, with registration open to the public. Additional projects will continue to be added as more community partners commit to hosting volunteer days.
