EPA Announces Settlement with Gulfstream Aerospace Services Corp. in Cahokia, Illinois, for Alleged Clean Air Act Violations

CHICAGO (September 20, 2024) - Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a settlement with Gulfstream Aerospace Services Corp., an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at 6400 Curtis Steinberg Dr, Cahokia, Illinois, for alleged Clean Air Act violations. Under the settlement, Gulfstream will pay a civil penalty of more than $156,000 and, as a supplemental environmental project, replace three diesel ground power units with electric ground power units at a cost of at least $540,060.

The settlement resolves the following alleged violations:

• Exceedances of raw material usage limits, volatile organic material content limits, and volatile organic material emission limits for certain units.

• Inadequately maintained filters and filter records for certain units.

• Inadequately maintained continuous emissions monitoring equipment and continuous emissions monitoring records.

• Untimely reporting an exceedance or deviation.
