During tonight's News 12 debate in New York's First Congressional District, Nick LaLota proved once again he's nothing but a rubber stamp on MAGA extremists' far-right agenda who refuses to find the middle ground to get things done for Suffolk County families.
During the debate, LaLota pledged allegiance to the far-right on multiple occasions by:
Defending Donald Trump's abhorrent comments that Hitler "did some good things" and he wanted generals in the U.S. Army to be like "Hitler's generals."
Refusing to codify Roe v. Wade into law, falling in line with his comments applauding the disastrous Supreme Court decision as a "step in the right direction."
Supporting the Trump tax credit that's hiking costs for Suffolk County families.
Defending his meeting with the radically far right group Setauket Patriots that promoted attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
Meanwhile, NY-01 Democratic nominee John Avlon outlined his plans to restore common sense leadership to Suffolk County families, including to protect a woman's right to choose, defend our democracy, and lower costs for families.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
"Nick LaLota has repeatedly caved to the far-right in Congress and put Suffolk County families in harm's way."
