DEBATE RECAP: Nick LaLota Pledged Allegiance Against Common Sense Leadership

During tonight's News 12 debate in New York's First Congressional District, Nick LaLota proved once again he's nothing but a rubber stamp on MAGA extremists' far-right agenda who refuses to find the middle ground to get things done for Suffolk County families.

During the debate, LaLota pledged allegiance to the far-right on multiple occasions by:

• Defending Donald Trump's abhorrent comments that Hitler "did some good things" and he wanted generals in the U.S. Army to be like "Hitler's generals."

• Refusing to codify Roe v. Wade into law, falling in line with his comments applauding the disastrous Supreme Court decision as a "step in the right direction."

• Supporting the Trump tax credit that's hiking costs for Suffolk County families.

• Defending his meeting with the radically far right group Setauket Patriots that promoted attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

Meanwhile, NY-01 Democratic nominee John Avlon outlined his plans to restore common sense leadership to Suffolk County families, including to protect a woman's right to choose, defend our democracy, and lower costs for families.
