PR No. 95 President Zardari felicitates Singapore on National Day Islamabad: Augus


President Asif Ali Zardari has extended felicitations to the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the Government and the people of Singapore on their 61st National Day.

The President in his letter stated that Pakistan deeply admires Singapore's remarkable journey of nation-building and economic transformation, achieved through visionary leadership, prudent governance and the unwavering commitment of its people. He noted that Singapore's success stands as an inspiring example of resilience, innovation and progress.

President Zardari highlighted that this year holds particular significance as Pakistan and Singapore commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He emphasised that over the past six decades, the friendship between the two nations has continued to grow, underpinned by mutual trust, goodwill and close people-to-people ties. He said that the two countries will continue to engage at multilateral forums while upholding sustained bilateral political engagements.

There is a vast potential for expansion in the fields of digital economy, green technology, maritime and logistics connectivity, urban planning, vocational training, academic and cultural exchanges and tourism, said the President. He further said that Pakistan is willing to work closely with Singapore to strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both countries and their people.
