Denver, CO - Trust for Public Land President and CEO Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser issued the following statement following the announcement of an Executive Order establishing the Make America Beautiful Again Commission:
"Our shared love of parks and public lands transcends political divides and reflects a deep, unifying American value," said Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser, President and CEO of Trust for Public Land. "Trust for Public Land welcomes the Administration's stated intention to advance conservation and strengthen the nation's outdoor recreation economy. This initiative offers an opportunity to build on the bipartisan legacy of the Great American Outdoors Act, which secured full and permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund-the prime driver of conservation and outdoor recreation efforts in every state across our country. TPL looks forward to working with the newly-formed commission and continuing to partner with federal, state, and local governments and with tribal nations to help connect more Americans to the outdoors, and to leave our public lands and waters better than we found them for future generations."
