On June 15, the Special Screening of "Dear You" in Malaysia has been held in Kuala Lumpur, which was attended by H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of Malaysia, Chiew Choon Man, along with overseas and local Chinese community representatives, among over 170 guests.
Ambassador Ouyang said that in "Dear You", the Qiaopi letters and remittances document the arduous entrepreneurial history and homeland sentiments of early-generation overseas Chinese, while bearing witness to the long-standing China-Malaysia friendship. Under the strategic guidance of both countries' leaders, the two peoples' friendship will further deepen and the bedrock of China-Malaysia friendship will further strengthen.
Chiew Choon Man said, from past Qiaopi letters of longing and caring, to today's close bond and mutual understanding driven by tourism and cultural exchanges, this friendship across mountains and seas remains enduring, which continues to be an important foundation of Malaysia-China friendship.
The screening was supported by the Embassy of China in Malaysia and organised by China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur and Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
