Post Date:07/15/2025 9:00 AM

July 15, 2025 Update: Republic Services is continuing to execute a robust and methodical recovery plan to complete catch-up efforts and return to normal waste collection schedules swiftly.

Operations are focused on servicing commercial accounts aggressively and moving into residential recovery. The approach is to target the oldest uncollected material first, working forward by service day and stream to ensure a complete and efficient cleanup across all routes.

Commercial collection is anticipated to be fully caught up by Wednesday, July 16th.

For Residential collection, as of today:

  • 100% of the backlog from Wednesday, July 9th has been completed for all trash, recycling, and yard waste service.
  • 30% of the backlog from Thursday, July 10th has been completed and progressing steadily.
  • Based on the current momentum and incoming resources, the target for full residential recovery is Monday, July 21 or Tuesday, July 22. Republic Services is optimistic that this timeline could be accelerated but will continue to assess the efficiency of the personnel who have been brought in for support and are still familiarizing themselves with Fullerton specific routes.

Residents and businesses should continue to leave their containers out unobstructed until service is completed. Street sweeping will continue to operate as scheduled. Residents with alley collection are encouraged to use street parking as needed to allow crews full access to carts.

To support efforts during this transition, Notices of Violation for container placement, and Street sweeping parking enforcement will be temporarily suspended through the end of this week.

We sincerely appreciate your continued patience, cooperation, and understanding.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Republic Services at (714) 238-3300.
