Consul & Head of Post of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag Li Xiaoyan Arrives in Laoag

On December 12, 2025, Li Xiaoyan, the newly appointed Consul & Head of Post of the Consulate of the People's Republic of China in Laoag arrived in Laoag City, the Philippines to assume her post. Ilocos Norte Provincial Board Member Roger John Fariñas, Laoag City Mayor James Bryan Alcid, Vice Mayor Carlos Fariñas, City Councilors Donald Nicolas, representatives from the Chinese community and diplomats from the Consulate greeted her at the airport.

Li expressed her honor in assuming the role of the 8th Consul & Head of Post of the Consulate of the People's Republic of China in Laoag. Under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy, she will lead the entire Chinese Consulate in Laoag in working together to provide quality consular services to Chinese citizens and institutions in Northern Luzon region, facilitate friendly exchanges and cooperation, and support the continued progress of bilateral relations between China and the Philippines.

BM Fariñas, Mayor Alcid and all attendees extended their warm welcome on behalf of the provincial and city governments to Consul & Head of Post Li Xiaoyan upon her assumption of duties, and conveyed their readiness to further collaborate with the Chinese Consulate in deepening practical exchanges and cooperation across various fields between the two countries.
