Dozens gathered at the UCLA Career Center earlier this month, as the Bruin Network Program capped off the fifth-installment in its pilot professional development series.
Developed by fellows of the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) who work for the UCLA Career Center and UCLA Extension, the program aimed to provide students with access to valuable resources and opportunities to build confidence in networking in a space to grow their professional connections.
"I think at the core of this program is the guiding principle of it being student-centered," said Elizabeth Gonzalez, UCLA HSI Initiatives director. "And the greatest honor is when you build a program where the students actually attend. They are so busy with classes, student organizations and family - the fact that everyone is here today means there is value in what we are doing."
The Bruin Network Program's first cohort was made up of more than 50 undergraduate, graduate and Extension students - with a sprinkle of alumni.
