The North Carolina chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) held its annual Road-E-O in Hope Mills on May 15 and 16. The annual competition is dedicated to the men and women who are the backbone of the solid waste management industry. This event provided an opportunity for the "best of the best" truck drivers, heavy equipment operators, and mechanics to compete. Drivers are required to maneuver vehicles through a preset course and are judged on accuracy and time.
The City of Raleigh Solid Waste Services department sent three competitors:
Shawneque Thomas earned a second-place finish in the rear loader competition!
The Solid Waste Services team is extremely proud of all three drivers who represented our department and the City with pride!
