City Celebrates Completion of North Valleys Sky Vista Roundabout Public Art Project with Unveiling

The City of Reno is proud to announce the completion of a new public art installation located in the center of the North Valleys Sky Vista Roundabout, welcoming residents and visitors at the entrance to North Valleys Regional Park. Media and the public are invited to the art project unveiling and interview opportunity with Ward 4 Councilmember Meghan Ebert at North Valley's Regional Park Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at 1 p.m.

The artwork was commissioned through the City of Reno Arts & Culture program and created by nationally recognized artist James Dinh, following a competitive selection process that included strong community participation and review by the Public Art Committee. Located at a prominent gateway to the North Valleys, the roundabout artwork is designed to complement the surrounding landscape and celebrate themes important to the community.

The $120,000 project was made possible through a combination of funding sources and partnerships from Washoe County, the National Endowment for the Arts and the City's public art allocations. The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) played a critical role in the project by constructing the art foundation and footing within the roundabout as part of its roadway improvements, allowing the artwork to be seamlessly integrated into the infrastructure.

"This project represents the power of public art to reflect the identity, values, and pride of our North Valleys community," said Councilmember Meghan Ebert. "This installation not only enhances the visual character of the roundabout, but also serves as a lasting symbol of connection, creativity, and investment in our neighborhoods."

The Sky Vista Roundabout Public Art Project is the first large-scale public art installation in the North Valleys and reflects the City of Reno's ongoing commitment to enhancing public spaces through art, collaboration, and community engagement.
