MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS ISRAEL'S DESECRATION OF AL-AQSA MOSQUE

Malaysia strongly condemns the provocative entry by a minister of the Zionist Israeli regime into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem on 7 April 2026. This brazen act, carried out while the compound was closed to Muslim worshippers, constitutes a blatant violation of international law, UN resolutions, and the sanctity of Islam's third holiest site.

Such reckless actions undermine regional peace and stability, and trample upon the religious rights of Muslims worldwide. Malaysia emphasizes that the protection and respect of Al-Aqsa and other holy sites in Jerusalem is a non-negotiable obligation under international law.

Malaysia calls upon the international community to forcefully condemn Israel's actions and demand that it immediately cease all aggressive acts, respect the sanctity of holy sites, and fully comply with international humanitarian law. Concrete measures must be taken to prevent further violations and ensure that Jerusalem's sacred sites remain safe, protected, and accessible to all worshippers.

Malaysia reaffirms its steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and its commitment to safeguarding their religious, cultural, and national heritage. Malaysia reiterates its unwavering support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
