Governor Gianforte Recognizes State Employees with Governor’s Awards for Excellence in Performance

Recipients include teams and individual employees across the state for outstanding service to the people of Montana

HELENA, Mont. - Governor Greg Gianforte and Department of Administration Director Mark Blasdel today recognized state employees who have gone above and beyond in their service to the people of Montana with the Governor's Awards for Excellence.

"Montana is full of talented employees who go above and beyond to serve their neighbors," Gov. Gianforte said. "When we see state employees providing Montanans with exceptional service, we want to recognize them, and that's what this award is all about."

During the 35th annual Governor's Awards for Excellence in Performance, Gov. Gianforte and Director Blasdel recognized 185 state employees for their accomplishments and dedicated public service and 16 recipients of the Governor's Outstanding Service Award.

Award recipients ranged from teams with a singular mission to individuals who enhanced the workings of state government and strengthened Montana communities.

Recipients of the Governor's Awards for Excellence include:

• Carson Thomas from the Montana Department of Agriculture for his work on the County of Origin program to deliver time-sensitive documentation that helps keep agricultural supply chains moving without delay, helping position Montana as a leader in ease of doing business.

• Anna Marie Moe with the Montana Department of Commerce for her work in streamlining grant contracting processes. She created an Excel macro which reduced 80 hours of work time in each grant cycle and helped reduce human error.

• The Rosebud Commemorative Event Team with Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) for their outstanding leadership and coordination in developing the Battle of Rosebud 150th Commemoration in June 2026.

• The Geospatial Section Team with Montana Department of Transportation for their work in delivering transparent, data-driven decisions working with FWP and Montana stakeholders on the Wildlife Transportation Planning Tool, which transforms complex transportation, wildlife, and conservation data into a clear, interactive map.
