The statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran on martyrdom of Iranian doctor in Israeli airstrike in Lebanon

.

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

"Never think of those martyred in the cause of Allah as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for."

The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran extends condolences and felicitations over the heartrending martyrdom of Dr. Ali Heidari, a dedicated and compassionate physician serving the people of Lebanon and Iranian residents in the country, in a brutal attack by the Zionist regime in Lebanon, to the family of the revered martyr and the resilient and noble people of Iran and Lebanon, praying to Compassionate God for his elevated status in the afterlife and patience for his relatives.

Martyr Heidari had been in Beirut for some time, driven by his humanitarian and religious duty to provide medical assistance to those in need.

The Zionist regime's targeting of Dr. Heidari, who was working as a doctor and aid worker to treat the wounded and help the sick, is a clear violation of the 1949 Geneva Conventions, which prohibit attacks on hospitals, medical centers, doctors, and medical staff, and amounts to a war crime.

Since the beginning of its genocidal campaign in Gaza and the subsequent aggression in Lebanon, the Zionist regime has repeatedly attacked medical centers, doctors, and aid workers, resulting in the complete destruction of many hospitals and the martyrdom of patients and the wounded, as well as hundreds of medical personnel.

The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the war crime by the occupying regime and calls on relevant organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), to document the repeated and clear violations of international humanitarian laws and the attacks on hospitals and medical staff in Gaza and Lebanon.
