City of Greeley Schedule for Martin Luther King Day

Celebrate MLK Day by volunteering in the community

 GREELEY, Colo. - City of Greeley administrative buildings will close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20. Emergency services, including fire and police, will operate as usual.

City facilities remaining open include:

  • Greeley Active Adult Center, 1010 6th Street
  • Rodarte Community Center, 920 A Street
  • Family FunPlex, 1501 65th Avenue
  • Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Avenue
  • Greeley Ice Haus, 900 8th Avenue
  • Greeley-Evans Transit and the Poudre Express, 101 11th Avenue
  • Highland Hills Golf Course, 2200 Clubhouse Drive, weather-permitting
  • Boomerang Links Golf Course, 7309 West 4th Street, weather-permitting

City facilities that are closed include:

  • Greeley City Hall and Utility Billing, 1000 10th Street
  • City Center North, 1001 11th Avenue
  • Greeley History Museum, 714 8th Street
  • Centennial Village Museum, 1475 A Street

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Thursday, January 16: Stop by Centennial Park Library (2227 23rd Avenue) between 4-7 p.m. Volunteers will help make no-sew fleece scarves, cat and dog toys, hygiene kits, and will create thank you cards for first responders. This is a fun activity for families and students, K-12.
  • Monday, January 20: The Marcus Garvey Cultural Center at the University of Northern Colorado is having a Banned and Challenged Book Drive. Bring new and gently used banned and challenged books to The Marcus Garvey Cultural Center at 928 W. 20th Street in Greeley. The book drive starts on MLK Day, January 20, and goes to the end of Black Heritage Month on February 28. The collected books will keep all Little Free Libraries on the UNC campus stocked for the entire year. For a list of banned or challenged books, visit ala.org/bbooks.
