CONGRESSMAN GRAY ANNOUNCES WINNER OF 2025 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

MERCED, CA - Congressman Adam Gray (D-Merced) today announced the winners of his 2025 Congressional Art Competition. Each year, the Art Competition is an opportunity for high school students to submit original art pieces to their congressional representatives. The winning pieces are hung in the US Capitol following decision by a panel of judges in each congressional district. Winning artists also receive a trip to Washington, DC, where they are recognized at an awards ceremony.

"Thank you to all of the Valley students who submitted their original art for consideration in this year's Congressional Art Competition," said Congressman Gray. "Each piece of art uniquely reflected the beauty of our community. Team Gray can't wait to see what comes next for all of our young artists."

This year, the panel of judges from California's 13^th congressional district selected "California Sunshine Cow" by Modesto High School senior Andrea Zepeda. Alongside her submission, Andrea writes: "I wanted to dedicate the piece not only to my love of the Central Valley and its beauty, but to my mother who has worked so hard to give me the grace of living in California. Because of my mother's inspirational and hard-working spirit, it he influenced me to express my creativity and use her inspiration to follow my passion for art."
