(Leavenworth, Kansas) - The University of Saint Mary Music Department is welcoming high school students, college students, and adults to join its Community Band and Community Choir for the 2026-27 academic year.
Open to high school students, college students, and adults of all skill levels, these ensembles provide a welcoming environment for music performance. No audition is required.
The Community Band, directed by Dr. David Vance, meets Mondays from 6-8 p.m. beginning Aug. 31 in Xavier Theatre on USM's Main Campus - 4100 South 4th Street, Leavenworth, Kansas.
The Community Choir, led by Instructor of Music Jonnie Brice, meets Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning September 1, also in Xavier Theatre.
Members of both ensembles will perform in concerts throughout the 2026-27 academic year on the University of Saint Mary campus.
"The Community Ensembles create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to make music together," Dr. Vance said. "Whether you've performed for years or are looking to return to music after time away, you'll find a welcoming place to learn, grow, and perform."
