ATLANTA (July 14, 2026) - Sen. Billy Hickman (R-Statesboro) was recently recognized as one of Greater Georgia's 2026 Legislators of the Year during the organization's Next250 Conference, a grassroots leadership conference that aimed to bring state and national leaders together for high-impact issue advocacy training.
The annual award recognizes members of the Georgia General Assembly for their leadership and commitment to serving the people of Georgia. Sen. Hickman was among eight legislators honored during the conference.
"I am deeply humbled to be recognized by Greater Georgia as a 2026 Legislator of the Year," said Sen. Hickman. "Thank you, Greater Georgia, for both this recognition and for encouraging more Georgians to engage in the civic process. Serving the people of the 4th Senate District is one of the greatest privileges of my life, and this honor only strengthens my commitment to working on behalf of the hardworking men and women of our great state."
