The U.S. however have the best average finish position in these conditions thanks to exceptional start line execution (Mark 1 average of 3.73), edging Artemis to a better average finish position (3.79 vs 3.95 in light-air wing races).
Of the three, it's Emirates GBR which struggle the most in light airs, dropping to an average 5.63 finish in these conditions. They're slow off the line (8.2 seconds to cross) and suffer from low foiling rates.
While Emirates GBR may be gunning for the last Grand Final qualification place, their performance in light airs so far this season leaves little to be desired. But with no confirmed driver for the U.S. (with Canfield missing Geneva due to injury), Artemis look to enter Dubai with a key advantage over both teams.
There's less than a month to go until the action resumes; the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix takes place on 21-22 November, followed by the Championship-deciding Grand Final in Abu Dhabi the following weekend on 28-29 November.
