Reminder: Join Us for Proud History Hangout – Tomorrow at The Lyceum!

Celebrate World Pride Month with the Office of Historic Alexandria at the Proud History Hangout, taking place tomorrow, Thursday, June 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum (201 S. Washington Street).

This free, drop-in event invites community members ages 16+ to explore Alexandria's rich LGBTQIA+ history in a fun and welcoming space. Connect with the Alexandria LGBTQ+ Task Force, record your own story for the City's Oral History Project, and get creative with shrinky-dink crafting. Beverages, including beer and wine (21+ with valid ID), will be available for purchase.

Don't miss this chance to celebrate, connect with community, share your story, and make some new friends. LGBTQIA+ history is Alexandria history.

Did you know that Alexandria was the first locality in Virginia to extend protections to gays and lesbians through its human rights ordinance? Learn more on the new Historic Alexandria LGBTQIA+ History webpage.
