Anderson County
Palestine crews are scheduled to fix base failures at various locations on FM 837, FM 3266, and FM 321. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. This work will be done the weeks of July 14 and 21.
Anderson County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
Traffic is currently being switched to the new pavement on the westbound lane, while the contractor works on the eastbound lane. The contractor is constructing driveways and ditches in area. The contractor will also continue setting panels and rail on the new eastbound bridge, as well as finalize ditches and slopes. The project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges across the Neches River.
US 79 Truck Parking Area
The contractor is awaiting final acceptance. The project includes concrete curb and gutter, earthwork, and drainage improvements.
Gus Engeling Texas Parks and Wildlife
The contractor is awaiting final acceptance. The project includes surface treatment, pavement striping, and drainage improvements.

Cherokee County
Jacksonville crews will perform base repairs on SH 110. Expect lane closures. Rusk crews will be performing bridge maintenance at various locations.

US 175 Widening Project
The following county road intersections will be closed within the project limits:
The contractor will continue switching traffic through Cuney onto the new westbound pavement. Preparation of the right of way has started on the westbound side of the highway, beginning from the Jacksonville end of the project. The contractor will also continue working on bridge elements, setting deck panels, clearing utility items, and building storm drain systems. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. The project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, grading, asphalt, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
SH 204
This week, the contractor is scheduled to begin widening operations and continue work on culverts, embankment, and cement treating the subgrade. Crews will also install and maintain SW3P measures. Motorists should drive with caution in the work zone. Lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of adding a super-two highway section.
US 79
The contractor is scheduled to begin seal coat operations. Lane closures are expected. Speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. This project consists of rehabilitation of the existing road, including pavement repair, resurfacing, metal beam guard fence, and pavement markings.
SH 110
This week, the contractor is scheduled to pour the mow strip for the metal beam guard fence. No lane closures are anticipated. This project is a change order to a bridge preventative maintenance project that consists of installing a temporary soil nail wall and a permanent retaining wall to address slope failure on SH 110. Motorists should drive with caution when work is in progress.
US 69 and FM 2493 Grade Separated Interchange Realignment
The contractor is scheduled to work on cement treating the subgrade and base installation on FM 2493. Short term lane closures are possible. Motorists should drive with caution. The project consists of a grade separated interchange and realignment of FM 2493 West of US 69.
US 69 Safety Improvement
The contractor is scheduled to begin stretching the cables for the cable barrier post in the median. Motorists should drive with caution. No lane closures are anticipated. The project consists of safety improvements consisting of the installation of a median cable and concrete barrier.

Gregg County
Gregg County construction projects updates:
SH 135 - Kilgore Traffic Circle
This week, crews are scheduled to work on drainage inlets and culverts under the railroad track. This project involves rebuilding the traffic circle and the entire width of the roadway to the Rusk County line.
I-20 Resurfacing
The contractor is scheduled to install the new metal beam guard fence this week. This project consists of milling asphalt off of the surface and placing new asphalt. Work will be done at night in both the eastbound and westbound lanes. Expect one lane closure at a time.

Henderson County
Athens crews are scheduled to perform base repair on FM 316 S in Eustace. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic. Crews are also scheduled to perform surface repair on FM 317. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.

SH 198 Bridge Project
The contractor is awaiting final acceptance. The project includes replacing bridges and approaches, grading, structures, base and surface work, retaining walls, curbs and gutters, fencing, and striping.
FM 316 Rehabilitation
The project is in time suspension and awaiting final acceptance. The project includes pavement reconstruction, structures, pavement markings and signs.
FM 315 Rehabilitation
The contractor currently performing edge work at various locations throughout the project limits. There should be no impact to traffic. The project includes pavement reconstruction, structures, pavement markings and signs.
BUS 19 Sidewalks
The contractor is placing concrete for the sidewalks and driveways on the west side of the road. Motorists should expect lane closures while work is in progress. This project includes sidewalk and pedestrian lane improvements.
SH 19 Super 2 Project
The contractor has begun roadway widening for the northbound lane. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph throughout the project limits. This project includes adding a passing lane in each direction at multiple locations. It also includes grading, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
BUS 31 Rehabilitation
Nighttime operations are scheduled to continue this week. Motorists should expect lane closures. The project includes removal of current surface, base repairs, resurfacing, striping, and signage. Traffic should use caution when traveling through the work zone at night and expect pavement striping operations during the day.
SH 31 at Sawmill Rd.
The contractor will be installing a new traffic signal on SH 31 at Sawmill Rd. Traffic should use caution while traveling through the work zone. This project consists of installing a traffic control signal and pedestrian signal.

Rusk County construction projects updates:
US 84 - FM 225 East to CR 3155
This week, the contractor is scheduled to cement treat the subgrade. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures while work is in progress. This project consists of reconstructing US 84, extended structures, hot mix asphalt surface, new signs, and striping.
SH 315
This project consists of widening pavement edges and installing space between the traffic lanes to separate opposing traffic for safety. Work will also include adding one passing lane in each direction of travel. New hot mix will be placed for the final surface. Expect delays and alternating one-lane closures.
FM 2658
This week, the contractor is scheduled to rework the existing base in the remaining areas. This project consists of reconstructing FM 2658 completely, from CR 344 to FM 1251. Work includes a new guard fence, treating subgrade, base material, seal coat, and striping.
US 79 N
This week, the contractor will be working on punch list items. Work will mostly be off of the roadway. This project consists of repairing slope failure in the TxDOT right of way. The site will be excavated, and a new embankment will be placed.
SH 43
This week, the contractor is scheduled to continue seal coat operations and laying hot mix. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. This project consists of milling approximately six inches off the surface and replacing it with new hot mix. The project also includes clearing the right of way, replacing driveway pipes, and striping.

Smith County
Tyler Maintenance crews are scheduled to perform base repairs on FM 3271. Motorists should expect lane closures and flaggers controlling traffic. An additional crew will also perform ditch maintenance at various locations.
Smith County construction projects updates:
US 69 Rehab Existing Road and Restricted Crossing U-Turn (R-Cut)
The contractor is scheduled to continue paving from Toll 49, north to Cumberland Rd. Motorists should expect nightly lane closures. The contractor will also install signs and pavement markings. This project consists of rehabilitating existing roadway and installing a restricted crossing U-turn (R-Cut) at FM 2813 intersection.
SH 31 Safety Improvement
The contractor is working on the US 69 portion of this project in Cherokee County. This project consists of safety improvements consisting of backfill and topsoil operations. No lane closures are expected.
FM 2493 Widen Non-Freeway
The contractor plans to close CR 177. There are detour signs in place. Traffic will use CR 172/Goodson Spur for the detour. When complete with this portion of work, the contractor will then close CR 172. CR 177 will serve as the detour route. This project consists of widening the existing non-freeway roadway.
County Bridge Replacements
Major items of work are complete. The bridge is open to traffic. This project consists of replacing existing bridge facilities and approaches. Construction is on-going at CR 452 over Mill Creek. The bridge will be closed for the duration of construction.
I-20 Bridge Maintenance
Crews are scheduled to begin abrasive blasting, priming, and topcoat application on the CR 353 bridge. Motorists should expect nightly lane closures on EB I-20 at CR 353 this week. This project is bridge maintenance, consisting of cleaning and painting existing steel bridge superstructures.
Legacy Trails Extension
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. No lane closures are expected. Motorists should drive with caution when work is in progress.
VA/Smith County Pedestrian Sidewalks & Curb Ramps
The contractor plans to pour concrete for the island, sidewalks, and ramps. Work will be done at Sunnybrook and Old Jacksonville Hwy. Motorists should drive with caution. Lane closures are expected. The project consists of upgrading pedestrian safety measures at various intersections.
FM 16 Widening and Realignment
The project consists of grading, asphalt base, asphalt surface overlay paving, storm drain, bridge, and culvert structures, signing, pavement markings, and signals. A traffic shift is currently in place through town. Traffic will be in two lanes during this phase of construction. Embankment installation is ongoing. The contractor plans to have sections of asphalt operations complete before the beginning of the 2025-26 school year. Motorists are urged to drive with caution through the work zone.
SH 31 Resurfacing
The contractor is scheduled to continue milling operations in the eastbound lanes and paving operations in the westbound lanes. The project includes prep row, base repairs, resurfacing, striping, and signage. Motorists should use caution when traveling through area and expect delays.

Crews are scheduled to overlay on FM 17 at various locations. Also, crews will perform bridge maintenance on FM 1651. Expect lane closures at both locations.
Van Zandt County construction projects updates:
FM 17, FM 47, and FM 859 Bridge Replacement
This project is for the construction of a new bridge and approaches, grading, base and surface, and metal beam guard fence installation. Motorists should expect work zone speed limit reductions and shoulder width reductions on the I-20 main lanes. Motorists should also expect work zone speed limit reductions and shoulder width reductions on the I-20 frontage roads. On FM 17, crews are scheduled to cement treat the base. On FM 47, crews will cement treat the base, install railing, and commence paving operations. On FM 859, crews are scheduled to repair the asphalt.
FM 1255 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway consisting of roadway widening, grading, rework base material, cement treatment, flex base, TCST, resurfacing intersections & driveways, extending cross structures, signs, and pavement markings. The project will be completed under traffic. Right of way prep and tree trimming are ongoing. Roadway rehabilitation operations and cross structure installation are ongoing pending weather. This work also consists of milling the existing roadway. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
I-20 WB Exit Ramp at SH 19
This project consists of ramp improvements. Crews have begun construction on the drainage structures and frontage road alignment. Striping operations will begin when paving operations are complete. Lane closures and traffic shifts are in place. Motorists should expect delays when work is in progress.
SH 64 at I-20 and SH 155 at I-20 Traffic Signal Installation
The project includes the construction and installation of traffic control devices including pedestrian signals. The SH 64 intersection striping layout has been completed. SH 155 intersection signals are complete and functioning. The frontage roads between SH 155 and Lawhon Ave. have been converted to one-way travel only. Major items and punch list items have been addressed. Project is awaiting final acceptance.
FM 1651 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
Construction is on-going for the cross structures and headwalls. The project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway, including widening, base repairs, signage, and striping. Subgrade work will be completed in one-mile segments. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
FM 279 Rehabilitation
The contractor is currently clearing right of way and pavement repairs. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area. Lane closures are in place. The project consists of pavement repair, grading ditches, drainage structures, asphalt, striping, and signage.
E Tyler St. at Mill Creek Bridge
This project is for bridge replacement, new approaches, grading, and base repairs. The contractor is preparing for bridge approach work. E. Tyler Street is closed to through traffic.

US 69 Hot mix overlay
This project consists of milling, level-up, surface repair, structures, signs, and pavement markings. Project closeout is ongoing. Mowing is expected in the project limits.
US 69 Grade-Separated Interchange
This project consists of grading, base, asphalt, drainage, structures, overpass, signing, and striping. There will also be curb and gutter work on the frontage road sections. Also, crews are preparing foundations for the retaining wall. Hot mix operations will also be underway. Motorists should be cautious of large equipment in the work zone. Lane closures are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
